Mr. Ross, a Certified Public Accountant, is the President and founder of L. Dale Ross, CPA, P.C. and in 2014 Sherri Champion, CPA became a stakeholder in the retitled and current entity Ross & Champion, CPAS, P.C.
Prior to starting the firm, he was a senior level tax manager for a global 25 company with $90 billion in sales and 70,000 employees in the United States. During his 40+ year career he has worked for organizations both large and small and can easily relate to the needs of individuals and small business owners since he has worked for small companies and he is a small business owner. During his career he has had an opportunity to attain significant experience and expertise in all aspects of income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, accounting and finance.
He is a member of the following professional organizations: Texas Society of CPAs, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and National Association of Tax Preparers.
In addition, he is a former member of the following local non-profit organizations: Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Georgetown Association and the Sun City Kiwanis.
He is the President of the Village Lake Office business owners association and has served in this capacity since 2007.
He is the Former-Treasurer of the Georgetwon Symphony Society and is a Former-President and Treasurer of the Williamson Museum.
He served on the following boards:
As mayor he represented Georgetown on the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), a regional mobility planning board for 6 years.
Chairman of the following TIRZ boards: the Georgetown Downtown TIRZ, the Williams Drive TIRZ, the Rivery Park TIRZ and the South Georgetown TIRZ.
Chairman of the Georgetown General Government and Finance Committee
Former member of both City of Georgetown economic development boards - VP of the Georgeown Economic Development Corporation and VP of the Georgetown Transportation and Enhancement Corporation and Former member of the Georgetown Zoning Board of Adjustment
He is a graduate of Houston Baptist University and earned two undergraduate degrees with honors in management and political science. Mr. Ross also earned an MBA, with a concentration in accounting from Houston Baptist University. Go Huskies!
Dale and his wife Mickie live in the Old Town part of Georgetown (close to the downtown square) with their cats Willie and Maggie. They have lived in Georgetown form 1999 to 2001 and from 2004 until today.
